Taxist(2004)

Taxist is a Russian series following Ilya Orlov, a GRU intelligence officer nicknamed "Monk" who abandons his 15-year military career for monastic life. Disillusioned by pacifism, he returns to the secular world and becomes a taxi driver in Moscow. What begins as a quiet escape from his past quickly unravels when Orlov's former life catches up with him. Operating from behind the wheel, he navigates a dangerous underworld of criminals, spies, and shadowy government interests. The series blends noir thriller elements with dark comedy as Orlov discovers that his new civilian identity offers little refuge from the violence and moral compromises of his old world. Caught between redemption and survival, he must use his espionage skills in unexpected ways.
