Counterstrike(1969)

Counterstrike is a British science fiction series from 1969 starring Jon Finch as an alien posing as a human named Simon King, tasked with preventing an extraterrestrial invasion of Earth. The BBC produced ten episodes, though only nine were transmitted. The sixth episode, "Out of Mind," was pulled from the schedule at the last minute when a documentary about the Kray brothers took its slot and was never rescheduled, subsequently wiped from the archives. Of the nine broadcast episodes, only the first four survive as 16mm black and white film recordings; the remaining five are considered lost. Counterstrike remains one of the rarest pieces of British science fiction television, with "Out of Mind" possibly never to be recovered.
