Dave's Place(1965)

Dave's Place is an Australian musical variety series that aired in 1965, hosted by Dave Guard of The Kingston Trio fame. Each Sunday night, Guard and the Dave's Place Group performed folk songs in a tropical South Pacific tea house setting, welcoming guest folk and jazz performers to the intimate club stage. The series blended music with comedy, featuring Australian comedian Queenie Paul as a recurring character—a weathered bar fly more interested in watching television than engaging with the live entertainment. Glamorous hostesses moved through the venue, serving patrons as the ensemble played. The show ran for thirteen episodes, capturing the folk music scene of its era with a lighthearted, laid-back atmosphere.
