The All New Alexei Sayle Show(1994)
The All New Alexei Sayle Show is a British comedy sketch series that aired on BBC2 across two series in 1994 and 1995, totalling twelve episodes. Alexei Sayle opens each episode with a cheerful musical number in Trafalgar Square, dancing as a wide-eyed newcomer to London in a playful homage to The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Following the success of Alexei Sayle's Stuff, the series showcases Sayle's absurdist humour through rapid-fire sketches and character work. The show launched before Alexei Sayle's Merry-Go-Round and featured a then-unknown Christoph Waltz in one memorable sketch. It captures the anarchic spirit of early-nineties British comedy, blending slapstick, wordplay, and surreal scenarios that made Sayle a cult favourite among UK audiences.
