Shogun Iemitsu Secret Journey(1990)

Shogun Iemitsu Secret Journey is a Japanese historical drama series that aired on TV Asahi in two seasons: 1990–1991 and 1992–1993. Kunihiko Mitamura stars as Tokugawa Iemitsu across both installments. The first season premiered in October 1990 as a replacement for the popular Abarenbo Shogun, running until March 1991. It shared cast members with its predecessor, including Reiko Takashima and Ayako Tanaka. The sequel followed the same seasonal schedule in 1992–1993. The series blends period drama with adventure, following the shogun's exploits during Japan's Edo period. Both seasons maintain the jidaigeki tradition of action-driven storytelling set in feudal Japan.
