Formula of the Crime(2022)

Formula of the Crime is a Russian historical series set in 1895 St. Petersburg, following Anastasia Ardashnikova, one of Russia's first female law graduates, who returns from the Sorbonne determined to become a criminologist. Armed with advanced investigative techniques unknown in her homeland, Anastasia clashes with entrenched attitudes about women's work and the rigid Russian detective police, embodied by bailiff Taras Smolokurov. Her ambitions collide with the harsh realities of a society unprepared for her expertise and vision. The series explores her struggle to establish herself as a pioneering criminologist in a male-dominated profession during Imperial Russia's final decades.
