Yo compro esa mujer is a period drama set in the early 20th century, following the Montes de Oca family as passion and jealousy tear them apart. Matilde harbors unrequited love for her cousin Rodrigo, who is devoted to her sister Branca Flor—who herself loves a humble fisherman. When Rodrigo discovers this forbidden triangle, his obsession turns sinister. He frames the fisherman for theft, securing his arrest, then learns that Branca Flor carries the fisherman's child.
