Anak Sena(2021)

Anak Sena is a documentary series following Sena, an indigenous village leader deep in the Malaysian forest who navigates two worlds for his son Wadi and the children under his care. Each day, Sena ferries his students across the Hulu Tembeling river to school, believing formal education is crucial for indigenous futures. Yet he refuses to abandon traditional knowledge. After classes end, he takes Wadi into the forest to hunt, forage, and master the survival skills passed down through generations. Sena's vision is clear: the next generation must master both "school knowledge" and "forest knowledge" to thrive. The series captures his daily struggle to balance modern opportunity with cultural preservation, and his determination to prove that indigenous children can succeed on their own terms.
