To the Wonder is a Chinese drama series following Li Wenxiu, a Han Chinese woman from Altay who dreams of becoming a writer in the city. Repeated setbacks force her back to her small hometown, where she works in her mother's shop and reassesses her ambitions. When she meets Batay, a local Kazakh boy, Wenxiu begins to see her hometown differently, discovering unexpected beauty in the landscape and community she once wanted to escape. The series explores themes of belonging, cultural connection, and finding purpose beyond conventional success, set against the distinctive backdrop of China's northwestern frontier region.
