In a Land of Plenty is a British television drama that traces four decades of the Freeman family from the 1950s through the 1990s. Adapted from Tim Pears' novel by Kevin Hood and Neil Biswas, this ten-episode series aired on BBC Two in 2001 and examines how postwar Britain transformed through the lives, loves, and losses of one household. The Freemans' personal struggles mirror the nation's broader social and cultural shifts in the decades following World War II. Jocelyn Pook composed the score. The production was a co-venture between the BBC and WGBH-TV, later broadcast on BBC America in the United States.
