Soapstar Superstar(2006)

Soapstar Superstar is a British reality singing competition that aired on ITV in 2006. Ten soap opera actors competed for the title, performing in front of a celebrity judging panel including Cilla Black. The format mirrored Pop Idol and The X Factor, but with a twist: the audience chose which songs contestants would perform. The two lowest-voted performers faced public elimination, with the ousted contestant earning a seat on the judging panel for the next round, where they could save one competitor and select their song. Fern Britton and Ben Shephard presented the main show, while Jayne Middlemiss and Duncan James hosted ITV2 coverage. Peter Dickson provided voiceover duties throughout the series.
