The Mediator(1990)

The Mediator is a Soviet science-fiction series set in an industrial town dominated by a massive radio-telescope. When residents begin acting in strange, synchronized patterns and adopting geometric aliases, a sinister cause emerges: an alien device called "the mediator" that implants extraterrestrial consciousness into human bodies. The invaders are constrained by Earth's primitive technology and must work within human limitations to prepare for full-scale conquest. However, the device cannot control children, the mentally ill, geniuses, or rebels—leaving a small group capable of resistance. As the alien influence spreads through the town, these unlikely survivors must fight to prevent humanity's subjugation and stop an otherworldly takeover before it's too late.
