Love and Lies(1996)

Love and Lies is a Japanese drama that examines the fractures in two marriages after years of routine have replaced passion. Yoshihiko, a veterinarian, and his wife Shoko, a lighting designer, have grown distant—he performs intimacy out of obligation while she feigns satisfaction. Across town, Kenji neglects his own wife's needs, claiming work demands all his time, until he begins an affair with Shoko. As their lives collide, the series explores how desire, duty, and deception unravel the foundations of modern relationships.
