A Dog of Flanders is an animated series following Nello, a poor orphan living with his grandfather in a village near Antwerp. Inspired by the paintings of Rubens, Nello dreams of becoming an artist despite the village's skepticism and scorn. When he rescues Patrash, an abused working dog, the two form an unbreakable bond. As Nello pursues his artistic ambitions, he faces ridicule from the wealthy and influential, particularly Alois's father, who dismisses drawing as a worthless trade.
