Student's Heart(2002)

Student's Heart is a Brazilian drama series set in the fictional town of Nova Aliança, Minas Gerais. Biology professor Edu arrives with his young son Lipe, hoping for a fresh start and a better life. Engaged to Amelinha, daughter of wealthy rancher João Mourão, Edu's plans unravel when he falls for Clara, a lawyer and daughter of respected attorney Raul Gouveia. As a devoted single father, Edu shields Lipe from his mother Mariana, whose addiction has made her unable to care for him. Tension escalates when João discovers Edu's fierce commitment to environmental protection—a stance that directly threatens the rancher's business empire of farms, dairies, and meatpacking plants. Their clash over a pristine forest becomes personal, forcing Edu to choose between love, family loyalty, and his principles.
