Corona de lágrimas is a Mexican drama series following Refugio and her three sons after they lose their home and rebuild their lives in Mexico City. Eighteen years later, the family lives modestly in a working-class neighborhood. Refugio works tirelessly despite serious vision problems, sacrificing her own wellbeing for her sons. Patricio studies law and dreams of success, earning his mother's admiration for his kindness. Tension builds when Edmundo pursues Lucero, unknowingly wounding Ignacio, who harbors secret feelings for her. Refugio grows concerned about Patricio's relationship with Olga, sensing it will bring him unhappiness. The series explores themes of maternal devotion, class struggle, and the complicated bonds between family members as they navigate ambition, love, and loyalty in their pursuit of a better life.
