Double Dare is an American game show that aired on CBS from 1976 to 1977. Hosted by Alex Trebek with announcer Johnny Olson and later Gene Wood, the series was created by Jay Wolpert and produced by Mark Goodson–Bill Todman Productions. The show marked Trebek's only venture into CBS game show hosting; his other hosting duties took him to NBC, syndication, and Canadian networks, with the exception of a brief 1990 stint on ABC hosting Super Jeopardy! Double Dare remains a footnote in both Trebek's prolific career and the golden age of American game shows.
