McDuff, the Talking Dog is a live-action Saturday morning series that aired on NBC in 1976. The show follows Dr. Calvin Campbell, a veterinarian haunted by the ghost of a 100-year-old sheepdog who once lived in his home. McDuff can speak to animals and to the doctor, but only Campbell can hear or see the spectral dog—a secret that creates constant comedic chaos. When Campbell's neighbor Amos Ferguson, played by Gordon Jump, drops by unexpectedly, the veterinarian must hide McDuff's presence while managing increasingly absurd situations.
