Romany Jones(1972)

Romany Jones is a British sitcom that aired on LWT from 1973 to 1975, following the chaotic lives of two families living on a caravan site. Created by Ronald Chesney and Ronald Wolfe, the early series centred on newlyweds Bert and Betty Jones, whose clash of cultures—he's a seasoned caravan dweller, she's a sheltered Streatham native—fuels much of the comedy. The humour intensifies when their neighbours, the eccentric Lily and Wally Briggs, enter the picture. After James Beck's death following the second series, the show pivoted, replacing Bert and Betty with a clueless city couple oblivious to the Briggs' antics. The result is a sitcom built on misunderstandings, culture clashes, and the absurdities of cramped caravan living.
