Wolf Among Wolves(1965)

Wolf Among Wolves is a German series set during the hyperinflation crisis of the early 1920s, when ordinary Berliners fought for survival beneath a veneer of wealth and stability. Wolfgang Pagel, a former cadet officer turned unemployed gambler, loses everything the night before his wedding and descends into the chaotic underworld of inflation-ravaged Berlin. As he searches desperately for money, Pagel navigates a world divided between struggling working people and complacent landowners and military veterans indifferent to the suffering around them. The series captures the moral collapse and desperation of an era when fortunes evaporated overnight and social order crumbled.
