Wasteland(2016)

Wasteland is a Czech drama series that unfolds when Hana Sikorova, mayor of a northern Bohemian village, refuses to let a coal mining company buy out her community. Her fourteen-year-old daughter Misha vanishes shortly after, and the search for her shatters the town's fragile peace. As suspicion spreads through the close-knit village, long-buried tensions surface and neighbors turn against each other. The mystery splinters into multiple interconnected narratives that gradually reveal the community's hidden truths. Beneath the surface of rural stability lies corruption, greed, and dark secrets that the disappearance forces into the open.
