Hype(2000)

Hype is a sketch comedy series that aired on The WB from October 2000 to February 2001. The show mined humor from celebrity gossip and pop culture headlines of the moment, delivering quick-hit sketches that riffed on the famous faces dominating tabloids and entertainment news. Despite a promising premise, Hype struggled to find an audience and was canceled after just 16 episodes and one season. The series did serve as a launching pad for two cast members who would later gain prominence on FOX's long-running sketch show MADtv, proving that while the show itself didn't last, it helped nurture talent that would thrive elsewhere in comedy television.
