Lightning is a British game show where six contestants battle through rapid-fire rounds of general knowledge and quick thinking. The twist: a roving spotlight eliminates players who can't dodge it. To survive each round, contestants must answer questions correctly to pass the threatening light to a rival—but only the home audience sees the countdown clock. Whoever gets caught when time expires is struck by lightning and knocked out. Throughout the week, eliminated players return to compete again in subsequent episodes, while the sole survivor of each show advances to the endgame for a chance to win up to £3,000. It's a high-pressure test of knowledge, nerve, and split-second reactions, where staying sharp and staying out of the light are equally vital.
