Markham(1959)

Markham is a CBS drama series starring Ray Milland as Roy Markham, a private investigator and attorney who took cases based on personal interest rather than financial need. Aired during 1958–1960 on Saturday nights following Gunsmoke, the show followed Markham's globe-trotting investigations from his New York base. His flexible fees ranged from substantial payments from wealthy corporate clients to nothing for those in genuine need. Early episodes featured assistant John Riggs, but the character was quickly written out, leaving Markham to work solo. Cases took him across the world as he balanced his legal expertise with detective work. The series ran for two seasons before concluding, showcasing Milland's versatility after his earlier CBS sitcom Meet Mr. McNutley.
