Programa do Jô(2000)

Programa do Jô is a Brazilian late-night talk show that has aired on Rede Globo since April 2000. Hosted by comedian, author, and musician Jô Soares, the program follows the American talk-show format pioneered by shows like Late Show with David Letterman. The show originated as Jô Soares Onze e Meia on SBT in 1988 before Soares moved to Globo, where it was renamed and continued in the same late-night slot. Each episode typically features three in-depth interviews with guests, often longer and more conversational than their American counterparts, plus a live musical performance. When a musician or band appears as a guest, they typically return to perform at the show's end. Occasionally, extended interviews with a single guest replace the full three-guest format, creating space for deeper conversation.
