Cherchez le garçon(2024)

Cherchez le garçon is a French drama about grief, identity, and chosen family. When Charly, a young trans man, is buried under his birth name, his close friends Louise and BB return to his childhood home to honour him as he truly was. Their intimate farewell is disrupted by the arrival of Charly's brother Victor and his wife Iris, whose presence threatens to unravel the delicate space the friends have created. The film explores the tension between how the world remembers us and how we wish to be remembered, set against the backdrop of a family home where past and present collide. Director Sébastien Lifshitz crafts a tender yet unflinching portrait of loss, acceptance, and the bonds that define us beyond blood relations.
