The Enigma(1980)

The Enigma is a mystery film centered on the disappearance of John Fielding, a Member of Parliament who vanishes en route to his country home. Sergeant Jennings takes charge of the investigation, but finds scant cooperation from Fielding's social circle. His friends and family offer little insight or assistance, their responses ranging from indifference to suspicion. Only Isobel, a woman close to Fielding, believes he may have orchestrated his own disappearance—a theory that challenges the sergeant's assumptions about the case. As Jennings digs deeper, he must navigate the murky motivations of the privileged world Fielding inhabited, where appearances mask darker truths.
