A Cricket in Times Square(1973)

A Cricket in Times Square is a family film about Chester, a cricket accidentally transported from Connecticut to New York City inside a picnic basket. Lost and alone, he befriends Harry the cat and Tucker the mouse—an unlikely pair who've already formed their own friendship—along with Mario, a boy who helps run his father's Times Square newsstand. When Chester discovers he can reproduce radio melodies by rubbing his legs together, crowds gather to witness the phenomenon. As his fame grows, Chester finds genuine companionship with his new friends, yet faces an inevitable choice between the glittering city life and his longing to return home to Connecticut.
