Little Tragedies follows Daniel Nolasco's departure from Catalão, a small Brazilian town he and his queer friends called too good to leave. In 2011, he moved to Rio de Janeiro for college, becoming the first to escape. A decade later, the group has scattered across the country—some dead, others relocated. The film traces the ripple effects of that initial exodus, examining how ambition, loss, and circumstance reshape a tight-knit community. Through intimate storytelling, it captures the bittersweet reality of leaving home, the bonds that survive distance, and the quiet tragedies that unfold when a generation moves on.
