The World Twice Around(2007)
The World Twice Around chronicles two extraordinary journeys separated by nearly five centuries. In 1519, Portuguese captain Fernão de Magalhães embarked on a voyage that would circumnavigate the globe and prove the Earth's spherical shape. Nearly 500 years later, in 1997, the Schürmann family set out to retrace this historic route, retracing Magalhães's path around the world. The film interweaves these two expeditions, contrasting the age of exploration with modern adventure travel. Through archival imagery and contemporary footage, The World Twice Around examines humanity's enduring drive to explore, discover, and test the limits of human endurance across centuries and vastly different technological landscapes.
