Under the Hula Moon is a dark comedy set in the Arizona desert, where struggling entrepreneur Buzz Wall and his wife Betty Jean live in a Hawaiian-themed trailer while chasing their dreams. Buzz is pitching a camouflage sunscreen called "Cammo," but Betty wants financial stability and a chance to start a family. Their precarious life implodes when Buzz's violent, escaped-convict half-brother Turkey arrives, ties up Buzz, kidnaps Betty, and steals their $10,000 lottery winnings before fleeing to Mexico. With help from Maya, an ambitious TV reporter and Buzz's former flame, he pursues his brother across the border to save his wife. The film blends absurdist humor with crime-thriller elements as this unlikely pair races against time in a high-stakes rescue mission.
