The Small White Mouse(1964)

The Small White Mouse is a charming East German comedy about Fritz, a traffic officer nicknamed "the White Mouse" for his meticulous work at Dresden's Körner Square. Day after day, Helene crosses the junction on her motor scooter, and Fritz has been giving her preferential treatment—but they've never spoken. Determined to change that, Helene deliberately breaks a traffic rule, landing herself in mandatory road safety lessons with Fritz. Their growing closeness attracts unwanted attention when Mrs. Messmer, fined by Fritz, accuses him of discrimination and lodges a complaint with his supervisor. What begins as a lighthearted romance becomes complicated by office politics and questions of fairness, blending humor with the everyday tensions of 1950s East Berlin.
