Neptune's Feast(1986)

Neptune's Feast is a comedy film about Swedish tourists who travel to a remote Russian village expecting to witness an ancient ice-diving ritual called the Festivity of Neptunus. The tradition doesn't actually exist. Eager to impress their visitors and boost tourism, the villagers hastily invent the ceremony on the spot, leading to a series of misunderstandings and comedic chaos. As the locals scramble to create an authentic-seeming spectacle, cultural differences and language barriers collide with good intentions. The film explores themes of tourism, cultural authenticity, and the gap between expectation and reality through humorous situations that arise when a fictional tradition suddenly becomes real.
