Over Seven Sparkling Green Waves is a documentary that traces the life of Brazilian poet, playwright and writer Caio Fernando Abreu across eight cities—Santiago, Amsterdam, Berlin, Cologne, Paris, London, Porto Alegre and São Paulo—where he lived and worked before his death in 1996. The film weaves together fragments of his literary works with intimate testimonies from those who knew him best, including fellow writer Maria Adelaide Amaral, translator Grace Gianoukas and musician Adriana Calcanhoto. Through these interlocking perspectives and geographical anchors, the film reconstructs a portrait of Abreu's restless creative life and enduring artistic legacy.
