Elment az öszöd is a Hungarian film set in 2017 at Budapest's Kozma Street Prison, where three inmates—a former prime minister, an online journalist, and a prison guard—await sentencing. Each man is haunted by the tumultuous events of 2006: the leaked Őszöd speech, the MTV siege, and the October 23 protests at Astoria. As their memories surface and intersect, the film traces how that year's political upheaval fundamentally altered Hungary's trajectory. Through their interwoven recollections, the narrative explores the personal and national consequences of a pivotal moment in recent Hungarian history, examining how political crisis reshapes individual lives and collective memory.
