Adam's Passion(2015)
Adam's Passion is a film that unites American director Robert Wilson and Estonian composer Arvo Pärt in their first collaboration. Set in a decommissioned submarine factory, Wilson crafts a poetic visual landscape where Pärt's meditative compositions take center stage. The work weaves together three of Pärt's major pieces—Adam's Lament, Tabula rasa, and Miserere—alongside Sequentia, a new composition created specifically for this production. Through carefully orchestrated light, space, and movement, the film creates a complete artistic synthesis, allowing the complementary visions of both artists to resonate. The result is a contemplative experience that merges visual spectacle with spiritual music, exploring themes of human longing and transcendence in an unconventional setting.
