Scum of the Earth is a horror film that traps newlywed Helen in a nightmare when her husband Paul is murdered during their Texas honeymoon. Fleeing into the woods, she stumbles upon Odie Pickett's isolated hillbilly family, who take her in—but safety proves elusive. With a killer still prowling the backwoods and Helen confined to their ramshackle cabin, the line between refuge and prison blurs. Paranoia and violence mount as she realizes the real danger may come from those sheltering her.
