Gidget Goes Hawaiian is a 1960s romantic comedy following teenage surfer Gidget as she reluctantly joins her parents on a Hawaiian vacation, devastated at missing time with her college-bound boyfriend Moondoggy. When he encourages her to go anyway, she spirals into panic, convinced he doesn't care about their relationship. On the plane, she befriends the outgoing Abby, who urges her to move on from Moondoggy—advice Gidget takes to heart by flirting with Eddie, a charming dancer. The scheme backfires when Gidget realizes what she's lost, and Moondoggy discovers he can't live without her. Caught between two suitors in paradise, Gidget must navigate jealousy, misunderstandings, and her own impulsive heart to find where she truly belongs.
