A Harlem Story

Chapter & Verse is a drama about S. Lance Ingram, a reformed gang leader adjusting to life after a decade in prison. Returning to a transformed Harlem, Lance discovers his hard-won tech skills have little value on the outside. He takes work delivering meals for a food bank, where he meets Ms. Maddy, a sharp-tongued 75-year-old with a complicated past. Their unlikely friendship becomes a lifeline for them both. As Lance reconnects with simple human connection, he begins to find meaning and hope in a community still bearing the scars of poverty and violence. The film explores redemption, second chances, and the quiet dignity that emerges when two damaged people choose to see each other.
