Popular Music is a Finnish drama that follows two boys in 1960s Laponia who dream of becoming rock stars. Set in the harsh, conservative Finnish-speaking region of Tornedalen near the Swedish border, the film traces Matti and Niila's friendship as they chase their musical ambitions.
