The Door(2017)

The Door is a fantasy film about Cheng Tianle, a middle-aged man grappling with his wife's infertility and a deepening sense of failure. When he discovers a magical key that opens a door to an alternate reality, he steps through to find himself wealthy, successful, and living the life he always wanted—complete with his high school sweetheart. But as Cheng shuttles between his two worlds, the fantasy begins to unravel. He grows restless, increasingly seduced by desire and excess, until he can no longer distinguish between the life he's built and the one he's abandoned. The film explores how chasing an idealized version of ourselves can lead us further from what truly matters.
