The Best Secret Agent(1964)

The Best Secret Agent is a Taiwanese-language spy film set during the Sino-Japanese War. Tsui-Ying flees the Japanese occupation and falls in love with Ling-Yun, but abandons him to marry his uncle Chao-Chun, a Japanese collaborator. Heartbroken, Ling-Yun leaves for the UK to study. Years later, he returns to Shanghai and discovers his ex-lover is now his uncle's wife. Meanwhile, Special Agent 001 orchestrates resistance operations against the occupiers, leading a dangerous campaign of sabotage. As the agent's identity slowly unravels, personal betrayal and wartime espionage collide.
