Looking for Lucky(2018)

Looking for Lucky is a comedy set in Shenyang, northeastern China, where a graduate student loses his professor's dog and risks losing a coveted tutorship. Desperate to find the animal, he enlists his reluctant father's help, setting off a series of misadventures across the city. Composed of just 61 shots, the film balances sharp satire on modern society's absurdities with an unexpectedly tender portrait of a father-and-son relationship tested by chaos and circumstance. As the two search through the noisy, argumentative streets, their bond deepens amid the comedy and frustration of their quest.
