Nafi's Father(2019)

Nafi's Father is a Senegalese drama about two brothers whose rivalry threatens a young couple's future. Tokara wants to marry his cousin Nafi, but their fathers—one a clergyman, the other a mayoral candidate in their small town—clash over the union. What appears to be a dispute about the children gradually reveals itself as something deeper: a bitter ideological conflict in which Tokara and Nafi become unwitting pawns. As tensions mount, the family must decide whether their bonds can survive fundamental disagreements about faith, ambition, and tradition. The film explores how personal relationships fracture under the weight of principle and pride.
