Explosion is an Iranian film set during the 1979 revolution, following a group of Muslim militants attempting to distribute their weapons cache across northern Iran. When a woman in the group betrays their arsenal's location to authorities—motivated by her imprisoned husband—her brother escapes prison and joins their ranks. Security forces plant two undercover officers within the group to infiltrate and dismantle the operation from within. The infiltrators methodically eliminate nearly all members, with only the woman's brother surviving the brutal crackdown. The film captures the chaos and moral complexity of revolutionary Iran through this tense cat-and-mouse narrative.
