Once Upon a Time in Seoul(2008)

Once Upon a Time in Seoul is a 1953-set drama following two eighteen-year-old orphans, Tae-ho and Jong-du, who survive in a brutal camp plagued by hunger and exploitation. Tae-ho relies on cunning while Jong-du brings street-fighting prowess to their partnership. The pair devise a scheme to steal US Army supplies, recruiting other boys to build a black-market operation. As their enterprise grows and cuts into local gangsters' profits, their struggle for survival escalates into open conflict. The film captures post-Korean War Seoul through the eyes of desperate youth navigating corruption, poverty, and violence in their fight for a better life.
