Chicken Heart(2002)

Chicken Heart is a Japanese drama following three drifters living in the same apartment building. Iwano, a former boxer, works as a punching bag for drunk businessmen alongside his neighbors Sada and Maru. All three have deliberately avoided commitments, with Iwano especially uncertain about his future. When their building is slated for demolition, the three lose their home but gain a chance at a fresh start. As they scatter to find their own paths, the film explores how displacement forces them to confront the lives they've been avoiding. A quiet, character-driven portrait of urban aimlessness and unexpected reinvention.
