Young Werther(1993)

Young Werther is a French film about thirteen-year-old Ismaël grappling with the shocking suicide of his best friend. The death leaves Ismaël and his classmates searching for answers—was it the friend's unrequited love for a beautiful neighbor, a girl Ismaël himself is drawn to? Drug use? Conflict with a despised teacher? No one saw it coming. As the survivors process their grief, they piece together fragments of their friend's hidden life, confronting questions about adolescence, desire, and the invisible struggles of those around them. The film unfolds through the eyes of confused teenagers trying to make sense of senseless loss.
