Red(2020)

Red follows three teenagers in rural Pennsylvania whose lives unravel when a secret threatens to destroy them. James and Lizzy appear to have a solid relationship until Aaron, a boy James was intimate with, can no longer keep quiet about their connection. Unable to bear the weight of secrecy, Aaron confronts James, forcing the three into a collision course that shatters their carefully constructed facades. Set against the backdrop of a small town where hiding who you are feels necessary, the film explores the cost of closeted lives and the messy, painful consequences when the truth demands to be heard. Red is a raw examination of identity, desire, and the impossible choices facing LGBTQ+ youth in conservative spaces.
