The Collection is an experimental anthology film comprising 24 short stories created by filmmaker Bruno de Almeida and a collective of New York City actors and writers between 2001 and 2005. Shot on digital video and edited on home computers, the project emerged from the DV Workshop, an ambitious initiative that documented its own creative process in real time. Each segment was shared online as work-in-progress material, allowing audiences to follow the filmmaking journey as it unfolded. The completed project culminated in 2005 with screenings across New York City and Lisbon, showcasing how accessible digital tools could democratize independent filmmaking and foster collaborative storytelling among emerging artists.
